Input: X{* *   } TEST {**}X 

Expected:XX 

Observed: X TEST X

In Smarty 3.11 it was ok.

Since 3.1.15  "* }" was interpreted by mistake as comment close tag.
The fix is now in the SVN and will later be included in 3.1.17
