Show the Number in the Contact capsule #262

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
1. Type a name in the number field
2. Telephone autocompletes with adress book entries.
3. User hits Enter to select a contact+number.
4. Telephone displays a "capsule" with ONLY the contact name.

EXPECTED: Show the name AND the number in the capsule.
E.g. Gabriel <+336123123123>

Better, don't use the capsule, just leave the text as is.

This issue ties into #241.

Why are you expecting to see the name and the number in the capsule? Mail.app,
for example, shows the name
only. And you can see the number by clicking the triangle on the right.

For the people I call most often I have multiple numbers. I call either often,
and I do a
lot care which one I dial.

Mail.app has an option to show both the Name and the Address, check out "Use
Smart
Addresses".

I didn’t know about it, thanks.

I’ll consider adding the similar option in Telephone.

I haven’t thought it can confuse people. I mean, when I start typing and
there is a completions list, I choose one
of the completions and I know which one I’m choosing. Don’t you remember
your choice right after you made it
and before you hit Enter the second time, to make a call?
