USB audio input failure #289

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?

Using a USB headset failed to give me any audio input. Same headset works fine
in other applications
and system panel. Changing to built-in microphone in application allows proper
audio input, but
changing back to USB audio results in same problems -- no audio input.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Telephone 0.14.3
OSX 10.6.2

Please provide any additional information below.
Cyber Acoustics USB headset, works great in everything else including OSX
system preferences
(showing input fine).

Are you absolutely sure? Because Telephone doesn’t control microphone level
in any way, it just uses what OS
provides.

Same problem with Freetalk Everyman USB Headset on OSX 10.6.2
First call after starting Telefon works perfect. After redialing or if second
call
comes theres no input sound. USB-Mic works - the caller can hear me but I don't
hear
the caller.

Sorry, in fact the problem I described is a audio output (not input) failure.
Anyway
maybe the following comment could lead in the right direction in both cases. I
discovered that the problem occured only if you select different channels for
output
and ringtone output. Again from the second call on, there is no sound in the
headphones.

I have the same problem. On OSX 10.6.2 Telephone 0.14.3 the USB microphone does
not work. Output works
fine.

jamgold, are you also experiencing this problem only when different channels
for output and ringtone are
selected, as Kholja described?

eofster

no matter what I select, microphone (USB) input does not work. I do have
SoundSource from Rogue Amoeba
installed, though. Do you think that could be the reason?

I just disabled SoundSource and it works now

markguertin, Kholja, do you have SoundSource installed?

No I don't use SoundSource. But I also thought about another Applications (like
Skype
or so). Stopping and restarting Telephone helps always at least for the first,
sometimes for two or three calls.

annoying as we work with the program.. we have to wait way to long sometimes so
we can start working...
