Almost certainly this is an EFL or py-EFL bug or change. It works as expected using EFL 1.19 and associated python bindings. Thanks for reporting we are looking into it.
OK I have tried various hacks to stop this behavior but I have never been satisfied enough to either commit them or add the hack to Bodhi's repos. For the record this behavior seems fixed using efl 1.23 and the associated python bindings. At least it is my test VMs.
Robert, thanks for all of your efforts on this. Perhaps for the next version of Bodhi it would be best to simply pull out ePad and replace it with something like Pluma or Geany or Leafpad or Mousepad for users. I ended up just switching to using a different GUI text editor, even though I love trying to use all efl flavored apps on Moksha. Perhaps this behavior will be fixed by future versions of EFL since it seems as if the newer version of EFL caused this regression. I'm surprised that the main Enlightenment devs haven't addressed this since ePad is not a Bodhi specific program, but part of their suite of software for Enlightenment. I haven't tested ePad in a Enlightenment specific environment but I'm guess the bug would be there too.
When editing a text document that is larger than the displayed area, there is a strange scrolling behavior. The attached video inside the zip file shows this behavior. I can scroll down through the document, but as soon as I place the the cursor using my mouse in a line, the text document will scroll almost to the top of the text document. The cursor is still where I placed it, but this scrolling behavior is an unexpected result making epad difficult to use except for the shortest of text documents. I would love to see this fixed so I could use the text editor that is designed to be native to the Moksha desktop environment.
