Basemaps should easily be stored in each rapids database entry. Base64 is a great way to do so.
Maps should not need to be made by user in a design software. They should be able to be google maps screenshots or drone pictures. There is always the options to create them and export them from design software.
Smooths map creation process. No need to parse SVG coming from different design software into React component.
Note that this does eliminate the idea of standardized color palettes. This probably would have been lost with scaling anyway due to differing artistic abilities. The opposite is also true. It allows great artists to design beautiful maps.
