Consult with target experts to identify a reasonable range of parameters for NMR background and signal waveforms. This will include things like:

Background shape
Signal shape
Measurement uncertainty
Characteristic changes of shapes with time and appropriate time scales.

Each parameter should have a default and should be configurable in the simulation program.
