With the completed transition to AlmaLinux9, it is becoming more and more important to be able to switch the operating system within a MCWrapper workflow. While the reconstruction step for previous run periods has to be processed in the CentOS7 container to be fully compatible with the data reconstruction, the analysis step may have already been done within the AlmaLinux9 environment for newer versions. Going forward, new developments in halld_sim and hdgeant4 as well as their dependence on JANA2 will certainly rely on AlmaLinux9.
Connected to this issue, it would be helpful to add an entry in the version set database for which operating system each xml file was compiled. The crawler script is part of the build_scripts repository.
