log pool terminal output in a .log file similar to other batch systems #395

similar to submitting to other batch systems, after the jobs are submitted, the terminal output is written to a .log file which can be read after or during the job to debug its status

This update applies the same logic and accesses the parent member 'log_dir' to know where to write the log file to.

@JeremyMcCormick should get in this convo because he has been touching how the logging works rather recently. Wasn't a huge fan of how it changed, so maybe we can use this as an opportunity to get the logging all working in a sensible way.

@cbravo135 Feel free to leave me some notes in a new github issue about the changes you would like to see for the logging. That's not too difficult to implement at all.
