Our approach to recipes has [at least] two imperatives.
recipes must be self-regulating
i.e. active "bad outcome avoidance" somehow baked in
that they "just work" is part of their definition/functionality/resolution
recipes must obtain pleasing outcomes
i.e. aesthetic principles ought pervade appropriately
in use, the experience should be quiet -- their utilization is the focus
