The macwindow.badge.plus button isn't immediately obvious as meaning to open the current modal view in a new window. It rather suggests creating a new window without modifying the current one.

Use a different symbol for this button. I was thinking some sort of arrow, though the SF Symbols selections for arrows aren't great. arrow.up.forward.square perhaps? Or arrow.up.forward? Something to better convey the idea of moving what the user is currently looking at to a different location on the screen.
