Failed to Generate Sitemap

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Installation was successful
2. Admin console is accessible
3. GSG appears to be running normally 
4. Webserver filter running but no URLs collected
5. Sitemap type is web

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
sitemap.xml file has no entries. No URLs are scanned. sitemap.xml file not 
updated. (1KB size)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
sitemap_win-beta1-20091231.msi installed on Windows 2008 Server IIS 7.5

Please provide any additional information below.

Extract from log file:

2012-01-06T02:35:33Z: Failed to update database.
2012-01-06T02:35:33Z: Failed to generate [Web Sitemap] for site [2].
