Hello! Jennica, I'm happy to review your homework 03 and I think you did a nice work.

• I think you achieved the requirements for the assignment and you give a table and a plot for each question. I love your detailed explanation for each plot& table and it helps me to understand what's going on the plot and table!
• You give a really clear header for each part and the md.file formate is tidy and beautiful!
• It's great that you also denote the mean and median in your histogram for question2, so I can learn more about the spread of the data.

Some improvements:

• In the question1, maybe you could use knitr::kcable to make your table more clear to see. Also for the plot in question1, maybe you could try to plot the maximum value and the minimum value in one plot, it will be more convenient for people to compare the max and min gdpPercap in each continent.
• In the question3, maybe you could use facet_warp to plot life Expectation over time for each continent separately. I think that plot may be more powerful to explain the data.

• It would be nice to have a ReadME in the homework 3 folder with a link to your .md file

Task 1: Good use of dplyr. You displayed the data in a table, but it might have been less work to use a kable, just do knitr::kable(continentGDP).

• Really nice ggplots, they show the data well. I like how you changed the position of the legend. Would it have been possible to create a single graph with min and max in separate panels? Maybe by including an extra column in the dataframe that identifies min.max and using facet_grid( ~’variable name’).

Task 2: I liked the faceted histograms. Could you have added a legend for the mean and median lines instead of writing it in text?

• I didn’t see a table for this task.

Task 3: I like your table but it doesn’t show the change in life expectancy over time, which I believe is your question.

• I’m curious why there was more than one observation per continent per year? But it's a really nice ggplot that shows the data well. Good work!

Comments:

• I'm not following your as.table() operation in question 1.
• Nice facet wrap and mean/median lines for question 2.
• For question 3, the bit where you “modify data set so only one observation per continent per year” is unnecessary.
• I'm not sure what the range in mean life expectancy has to do with the drop in life expectancy in Africa after 1996? It looks more suited to be the missing table for question 2. The first table for that question doesn't really illustrate the task, either.
