Home button and other saving features causing permanent crash #276

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. clicking home button on screen or on wiimote (always)
2. tweaking theme settings (most times)
3. adding covers (sometimes)
4. saving settings (sometimes)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect normal functionality of saving settings and launching homebrew.

Freeze followed by (on re-launch) stack dump or black screen and blinking HD,
or wiiflow with no covers and interface stuck on the basic themes second layout
Config files seem to be corrupted or more I don't know.
A full re-install resolves, but all settings must be recreated.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
r29a 249
wiikey 2
prii loader with provided Nforwarder auto booting
wd hd with about 400 games
os x to stage sd

Please provide any additional information below.

Biggest change to the system other than wiiflow up to 2.0 (which rocks) is the
homebrew update.
I have consequently reinstalled priiloader bootmii and homebrew as well as all
of my apps (essentially a full software restaging aside from ios files) in an
attempt to find some other reason for these results, but it seems to reside in
wiiflow as nothing helped and everything works on a fresh install of wiiflow,
with of course this defect still present. I do lean on the possibility of
something clashing with the HB update though.

Please let me know how I can help,or anything else I can try to test - this is
a fantastic project.

in 117 you had to press B on the upgrade button (iit was an accident). Also,
try turning texture compression and cache compression off in your wiiflow.ini
and delete the covers. It seems there are some covers on wiitdb that crash the
compression stage because they are not power-of-4. Also dont use the
nforwarder source, alot of ppl have issues with that. Get the forwarder dol
from irc and use that. Also get the r122-r126 on irc while ur there and these
problems shouldnt exist.
