I have already reported a few of these scammers to GitHub, but they didn't do anything. And I tried to contact one of them privately, @therepower, but he didn't dare to answer...
@IedSupo What's YOUR agenda here? Why are you trying to take down an extremely useful tool?
you will always get unscrupulous users who exploit. Human Nature. Would be better to explain the details how scams occur. I have been using SDA since the beginning, even the Winauth fork which I still use for non-steam authentication and I have yet to have any issue (except with Linux). Next time creating a rant, you may try providing some details so that the community may provide some form of constructive criticism.
didn't i spell it out ? the first google result for this authenticator is a scam website. and this github repository should be connected to a real website or get removed entirely. by using this repo as the "genuine" version without any website google will associate the most paying scamsite with it. and i believe the creator of this github knows exactly that and is hiding behind that scam website but claims not to be connected. why else would you not change the name of this project or disassosiate in any other way but keep help the scams keep going ? the amount of money me and others i talked to have lost is nothing compared to the creator of this program would need for hosting a real website for 100 years into the future. but instead he/she chooses not to. doesn't seem right at all, use your brain
It's not the author of this project's responsibility to rename to avoid anything problematic. By your logic, you are an Improvised Explosive Device, because you didn't choose to change your name to remove "IED" from it.
it's not ? who says ? let's stay with the facts: the author is complicité in the theft. now.. is he/she A) completely recklessness and careless or B) involved ? you're free to choose A, i will just point out believing B
The author is absolutely NOT complicit in the theft. That is not a fact, that is your personal bias.
the author has been made aware multiple times stop defending antisocial behavior you lowlife
Prove it.

You mentioned using Google search results. Did you realize what criminal organization Google (or Alphabet Corp) is? I could give examples, I have been using their service since the beginning and follow content creators who do well researched examples of how Google participates in generating revenue by breaking the law. Even crossing the lines with respect to homeland security and much more serious crimes which should have long ago ended their companies in a very permanent way. Sadly, looking at the affairs of USA, you can gather that someone abroad is pulling the strings globally and we are all going on this big clown show. Maybe one day you will make some life changing observations, everyone will if they scrutinize their perceptions correctly.
Try not associating Github with Google. If Github developers are being incentivized to re-use code from other developers, it is on them and only them.
I am not sure if you are familiar with all the world corruption and who is causing it, but I have a good idea and you appear to be a bit off topic. Concentrate on the causes, not the symptoms and stop blaming the original Developer for being involved unless you have done a financial search to discover conflicts of interest. I am sure that if you had better things to do, I could suggest more important issues facing the world right now which you can spend more useful energy on.
Lastly, please refrain from using stereotypes, antisocial behaviors and scams are not related in any way. Might look up the definitions of words before so casually using them and may decide to be less insulting of others. If you have nothing to contribute, best stay quiet.
The level of fraudulent activities linked to scammers using this GitHub repository as a cover is genuinely surprising. Furthermore, it's becoming harder for me to believe that the person who established this GitHub repository isn't directly involved in these scams.
I encourage you to take a look at the numerous scam reports and posts where people share their unfortunate experiences of losing money. I personally know people who have suffered losses ranging from hundreds to thousands of dollars in terms of the value of their belongings.
In my opinion, any reasonably responsible individual would have already taken down this software from public access. It's challenging to justify keeping it online, especially when a simple Google search leads to a suspicious website that acts like malware, secretly collecting sensitive data. How can the creator of this GitHub repository simply brush this aside and disclaim any responsibility?
From my perspective, it's becoming increasingly clear that the person overseeing this GitHub repository is also the one behind the deceptive Google website that preys on unsuspecting users. The frequency with which anonymous accounts praise this individual as a "Jessecar96 is a good guy" only deepens my suspicion.
It's hard to fathom how any person with even a hint of integrity could persist in maintaining this repository while knowing that numerous people have suffered substantial financial losses. Such actions reflect a glaring absence of moral principles, painting this individual as an unscrupulous fraudster.
The situation is undeniably distressing, and I'm not inclined to entertain excuses. I can easily anticipate the attempts to disavow responsibility. Nevertheless, you bear a significant share of culpability, and your involvement seems highly questionable. Who, with a clear conscience, would knowingly allow others to get scammed just to keep this GitHub repository intact?
