Not sure how simple this would be to include, but a simple way to indicate watched videos would be awesome.

from a code point of view its easy (for me) but being able to implement it in a way that I find visually pleasing is whats been keeping me from doing it

Tick mark next to the watched videos/seasons/shows? Ala Confluence.
