Right now, the player is a green box with small blinking eyes. This is obviously a placeholder.

Maybe the character should be based on an animal, akin to sonic the hedgehog.

Squirrel who collects acorns
Caterpillar who collects apples (turns into a flying moth/butterfly with powerup?)
Reptile (a spin-off of the 2D gex)
