Twitter app issues w/ Outline #745

Describe the bug Twitter app is not working as intended when the Outline VPN turned on.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Install Outline VPN in AWS Lightsail (US Region)
  2. Activate Outline VPN in iOS
  3. Access to Twitter and click on any profile/username
  4. See error

Expected behavior Twitter app should work as intended.

Hey there, sorry this is an issue.

Does this just occur with the Twitter app? Have you tried visiting Twitter on a browser and seeing what happens?

I have the same issue.

It works for me last night, but suddenly fail loading in twitter app. It said account is deleted when I reload.

I’ve tried to use Safari in iPhone, no problem at all.

My Outline is installed on AWS Lightsail too.

This issue is similar with mine and it was opened few months ago which I expected it would have been fixed by now but none yet. I noticed just some twitter microservices do not respond in my app like viewing comments, loading of other Twitter users profiles and loading my own likes but they load well in the browser.

@JonathanDCohen , Hey there. Is there any update for this "bug" here? Basically all @fobabs said is the same with mine. Only the functions in Twitter app i.e. "viewing comments, loading of other Twitter users profiles and loading my own likes" are not working, but all of them are working fine in Twitter website page via Outline VPN.

Is Outline blocking any twitter ports? Or the server used to set up Outline manager is blocked by some microservices of Twitter?

@JonathanDCohen this issue is taking longer than usual. This was created 8 months ago and I made a comment on it based on my experience 4 months ago but nothing has been done. I don't like the alternative VPN I am using in place of Outline just for my Twitter app to work. I love the Outline app and I really want it to work for my Twitter app efficiently. Please see to this as soon as possible.
