Support for https://mspfa.com #370

Every page has text and an image, I know, but it is more fitting to be a FanFic than a Comic (like https://github.com/Xonshiz/comic-dl)

JimmXinu commented 5 years ago

FanFicFare is built around the assumption (for most sites) that stories have chapters and a chapter list.

While mspfa.com does appear to have a "VIEW ALL PAGES" / "ADVENTURE LOG", in the stories I've looked at many to most of the "chapters" would be named "==>", "->" or ">>>".

It also looks like the site uses a bunch of JS to render their pages.

I'm not personally interested in adding support for this site, but I'll leave this issue open in case someone else is.

@JimmXinu I can dissect MSPFA into different blocks

@DonaldTsang Welp, it seems that this enhancement is going to be a tough one, as currently writing this message, mspfa.com is currently under maintenance as they suffered a minor data lost: MSPFA Recovery.

And the fact that it's been 4 years since there has been any updates on any implementation from FanficFare.

Maybe one day the Unofficial Homestuck Collection team (an unofficial collection that is even acknowledged by Andrew Hussie himself) could implement MSPFA support? But as of what I can see, the UHC is only focusing on the canoncial Homestuck stuff, rather than the fanmade stuff.

(And yes, I have read Homestuck lol, it's been awhile since I have been in the fandom)

Update: There is actually in the works MSPFA support from the Unofficial Homestuck Collection team! Feature Support: MSPFA #296.

@DonaldTsang if you are still interested in getting some sort of downloader like FanFicFare, the Unofficial Homestuck Collection app is currently developing MSPFA support. It has long way to go before they update their app to include MSPFA support, but considering that have been no updates here, I will put my bets on waiting for an upd8 for the Unofficial Homestuck Collection app. (I just check your profile, and it seems that you are inactive on GitHub for a long time ever since 2021-11-11, heh, ten years since the past of 11-11-11. I hope you are doing fine.)

@JimmXinu, I think you can close this post (if you want) as there has been no new updates at all for supporting MSPFA, and there is a group that has a more active development on implementing said website.

Well, it was just sitting here quietly, not bothering anyone until just now...

So unless you plan to start implementing these old requests, please leave them be, thanks.
