lock-on help #336

when I try to boot sonic 2 knuckles it does not work. it either boots normal 
sonic 2 or the stand alone sonic & knucles game. I have the sonic and knuckles 
rom in the lock-on folder and sonic 2 in the rom folder. please help

from the user manual:

"In order to enable Lock-On emulation, you must provide the uncompressed Sonic 
& Knuckles ROM image (not included) and put it as “sk.bin” in the 
“/genplus/lock-on/” directory, on your default FAT device. In order to 
properly run Sonic the Hedgehog 2 with Lock-On technology, you also need to 
provide the extra chip (UPMEM) ROM image and put it as “sk2chip.bin”, in 
the same directory."

In short, for Sonic 2 only, you need an extra ROM (which can not run alone and 
contains some specific data for Sonic 2 Knuckle adaptation) generally referred 
as Sonic 2K UPMEM ROM.

Also, you do not load the S&K ROM but the ROM that you want to be locked on, 
S&K ROM (and extra ROM if needed) are automatically loaded providing they are 
properly named in the proper lock-on directory.
