.vgm music file support #388

I know vgm supports several instruments but would be possible to maybe add this
in the future to run VGM's which have YM2612/PSG code?

I already thought about that but adding a music player in this emulator is not
really top priority.
I leave this open though as I think it is a nice feature and would love to see
someone add this as a coding exercice...

In the meanwhile, perhaps it would be easier to support direct rips of the
music data? These aren't ripped, trimmed and looped "by hand" and include every
song inside the ROM, even those that can't be directly accessed by the running
engine (many hidden tracks have been found this way, lately).

There's a big archive of Mega Drive music rips over here:

And here's more than 300 Master System and Game Gear direct rips:

It would not be easier, it is just another file format to support.

That's the problem actually with adding a music file player in emulator, once
you add support for one music file format, someone comes out saying "it would
be perfect" if it supported this other format, then another, etc, etc... ;-)

This is an emulator afterall and I do not see much benefit listening to those
files on your Wii rather than with existing PC music players, hence why it's
really low priority and definitively not something I would spend my free time
on.

Oh, I thought the direct rips would be the easiest music format to support. I
guess my assumptions were wrong.

In any case, here's a direct link to the current pack (player included), in
case you'd like to have a look at it for any reasons:

Is this for Linux or something? I see no Windows executable inside the SMPS
package.

Oops, turns out the player was in a separate link:

My mistake.
