Does ‘datasetIdentifier’ refer to other external identifiers (from external systems) from the dataset: e.g. the repository only holds a metadata record, and the dataset lives elsewhere. If not, we need a way of linking to the external version.

Dataset identifier is the persistent identifier that points to the dataset wherever it is. Typically this is a DOI.

If there are various other datasets that need to be linked (for matters of provenance or otherwise) then this can be done via datasetrelatedIdentifier.
