7 years ago This is a piece of inheritance from the Datacite schema. Historically, the datasetYear is to ensure the issue of DOI and thus the information content needed for citation, where just a year is required.
The RDSS system is capable enough to derive this from the full date already supplied so datasetYear is not needed.
Why there is DatasetDate and DatasetYear separately? What’s the purpose of DatasetYear if there is already a DatasetDate metadata? What’s the difference between these terms?
