What does file Composition Level mean?

DomFripp commented 7 years ago

There is an explanation from the PREMIS dictionary here. https://github.com/JiscRDSS/rdss-canonical-data-model/blob/master/properties/File/file.md#file-composition-level-1

To give an example, a video file is composed of two separate bitstreams -the audio and the moving image, both of which have different properties. The video file would have a composition level of 1.
