no errors but no data uploaded to pvoutput #55

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. installed current and also tried beta version of pvbeancounter
2. setup as per instructions
3. no data at all displayed on pvoutput.org account

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
No data diplayed on pvoutput.org

What version of the product are you using (e.g. 1.4.1.9 32bit)?
1.5.03 (was using 1.4.2.1 with same issue)

What Operating system (XP, Vista, Windows 7 - 32bit or 64bit)?
Win7 64

Which Database Type (MySQL, MS Access, SQLite - If Access, 32bit or 64bit)?
SQLite

Are there any unusual messages in PVService.log? (upload a copy to this
issue if there are)
Nil error messages

Please upload your settings.xml file with the issue. This answers many
questions I would otherwise need to ask.

Please provide any additional information below.
csv files are being updated in archive folder every 10 mins by pvbeancounter

I cannot see any errors in log file (all options for full logging selected)

When I view my 'outputs' data on pvoutput.org 'no records found'

I originally tried PV Bean Counter v1.4.2.1 Setup(x64).msi this was having
same issues so I uninstalled and installed PV Bean Counter v1.5.0.3
Setup(x64).msi

Same result with both installs. What am I doing wrong?

Roy

PS I have double checked pvoutput.org account> API key and solar system id
match settings in pvbeancounter

I am uncertain of the actual problem but you have too many inverter managers
enabled.

I am assuming that you are using an SMA Bluetooth enabled inverter. For this
inverter type, the default inverter manager settings are correct. The Sunny
Explorer inverter should be enabled. The other three should be disabled.

SMA Bluetooth is an experimental manager that may one day eliminate the need
for Sunnr Explorer. However it is not working and should not be enabled.

Current Cost is an inverter manager that takes Yield data from a current cost
meter and loads it to pvoutput. It should only be used when you cannot use any
of the other inverter managers and you have a current cost meter reading
inverter yield. This component has had minimal testing at this stage and may
require further remediation.

Can you please disable all inverter managers other than Sunny Explorer.

Also check "Trace" and "Meter Trace" on the log files tab.

Save settings and restart.

Please post the resultant log and the new settings.xml

Hi Dennis
Thanks for your help.
I followed steps above, log & settings files attached.
Still no output to pvoutput.org.

I have uploaded (via http) to my account manually and this displays on
pvoutput.org so I assume my pvoutput.orgauthentication details are correct.

Observations:
The csv file is being updated with generation data every 10 mins, but looks
like log file does not have any trace/debug info at all once service is started.

I started this test at 6/19/2011 12:08:07 PM
I left pvbeancounter service running without running sunny explorer for 20 mins
and still no output or additional entries in log file.

When I select the options for trace and meter trace I assume you want these two
check boxes ticked? (They have three states blue (defaulted), ticked or blank)

Additional background on system setup:
Log file and complete / PVRecords and sub directories has full permissions for
Local Service.
I do have SMA 4000TL bluetooth inverter.
PC - Win7 64 bit
Also I have CC meter with two sensors & transmitters. One sensor on consumption
and also one on solar generation.

The sensor on generation may not be required if that is covered via
sunnyexplorer?
If so my plan is to move the generation sensor to the reverse cycle A/C to
monitor that beast locally. (once I am uploading to pvoutput correctly)

Roy

The log file does not contain any trace output. I can see traceing turned on in
the settings file but trace output is not present in the PVService.log file.

I notice that your computer date is set to 19/06. This may cause issues when
you try to upload to pvoutput. I suspect future dates will be rejected.

Can you please upload your database (pvhistory.s3db) I would like to check the
content.

I believe you will need to change the date or time setting in your computer.
What is your timezone / which part of the world are you in?

I have adjusted date to be correct - actually in Perth WA. Not sure when/why
date was incorrect on system.

note I selected incorrect first day in previous settings. <firstfullday
value="6/15/2010 12:00:00 AM" />

I changed PC/system date to be correct, stopped service, updated settings in
pvbeancounter, saved, setup/check environment and restarted service

Database attached.
Thanks

Hi Dennis

Initial problem solved. I reviewed your closed issues and found one that was
similar to my issues.

I must have tried to use custom directory when initially installed.

To fix my issue I just changed Default directory in pvbeancounter and then
changed back to the default c:\PVRecords and saved.

Now the settings file is being used by PVBeancounter and my uploads are
working!

I am now looking at how it should be setup to record CC meter useage and also
SMA production data. Will look thru Wiki.

Thanks!

You can use alternate directories, however most windows systems have security
policies that prevent the "Local Service" account from accessing your personal
data (My Documents etc).

The PVBC service runs under the Local Service account. If it cannot see the
settings.xml file created by the Configuration program (which runs under your
personal account) it uses PVBC default settings.

Not sure what you mean by SMA production data. PVBC stores the data from your
inverter in the OutputHistory table in your database. It is yield only, but
that is all SMA offers via Sunny Explorer csv export.

I suggest you update to 1.5.0.5.

1.5.0.3 was a test version that had a number of issues. 1.5.0.5 looks stable,
especially for use with SMA inverters.

I will use 1.5.0.5 as suggested.

Sorry if not clear about SMA production data. I meant yield - this is working
OK)

I have CC meter measuring house usage and want to export that as well as the
SMA yield data. Just not sure of settings required in pvbeancounter to export
CC meter data as well as data from inverter.

Assuming you have connected the CC EnviR meter to the PC:

Go to the Current Cost Meters tab:

Select the Meter Port Name - usually something like COM3.

Set the baud rate to 57600

Ensure that "Consumption" is checked on the correct appliance (usually 0 - the
default setting)

I suggest that it is safer to uncheck "Yield" on all appliances as you will not
be using the Current Cost inverter manager. (avoid any possibility of double
counting yield)

All other settings are optional and have conservative default values.

Check "Monitor Meters"
Save your settings

Restart the PVBC service
