What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.run PV Beancounter as normal
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expect consecutive days to be uploaded

What version of the product are you using (e.g. 1.4.1.9 32bit)?

1.5.0.5 32 bit

What Operating system (XP, Vista, Windows 7 - 32bit or 64bit)?

Win 7 starter on an old Dell laptop acquired for this purpose. Have also tried
Win7x32Home premium.

Which Database Type (MySQL, MS Access, SQLite - If Access, 32bit or 64bit)?
SQLite

Are there any unusual messages in PVService.log? (upload a copy to this
issue if there are)

None that I can see.

Please upload your settings.xml file with the issue. This answers many
questions I would otherwise need to ask.

Please provide any additional information below.

Installed 1.5.0.5 on an old laptop bought to leave PVBeanCounter running. Works
fine for first day, but PVBC does not wake pc from hibernation on morning of
second day. When pc manually resumed from hibernation PVBC runs but continues
to upload the previous day's data with the current day's timestamp, see
attached screenshot.

Rebooting pc does not fix this. Suspect this may be a windows setting somewhere
as it does not happen on my other more modern laptop. Have also tried with
version 1.4.2.0 as this is what the newer laptop is using but same result.

I cannot verify that there is a time problem from the files supplied. If you
believe that there is still a problem with times, check "Trace" and save
settings in PVBC. After a few hours (daylight operation), upload the resultant
log file.

Regarding not coming out of hibernation. PVBC uses "Waitable Timers" to wake
the computer from sleep or hibernation. These are sometimes disabled (I saw
this on one system only). To enable:

Control Panel -> Power Options -> Change plan settings -> Change advanced power
settings

Scroll down to and expand the Sleep entry

Enable "Allow wake timers" for "Plugged In".

OK to save settings

Reboot to ensure the setting takes effect

Let me know how you go with this.

Hi Dennis,

"Allow wake timers" was already set to enabled.

It was uploading correctly, one day at a time, provided I deleted the previous
day's .csv file, but today it seems to have got stuck at 12.02pm, according to
PV output.

Thanks for taking a look,

Mark

As a further update, after restarting the laptop PVBC uploaded todays data so
far, then started reuploading yesterday's. This is reflected in the time of the
last upload on PV Output- yesterday's "updated time" column keeps changing as
the csv is reuploaded but today's output row is stuck at 14.42pm.

I cannot understand the problem from these files. Is the problem still
occurring? Your pvoutput graphs LOOK normal.

If you believe there is still a problem, please upload log files with trace
turned on together with the csv files that were being uploaded.

Hi Dennis,

The graph looks normal because I have reverted to the original Dell Vostro
laptop to upload. PVBC works fine on this. On the old lappy bought solely to
run PVBC consecutive days are not uploaded. If the pc is restarted every
morning and the previous days .csv is deleted it works fine, but I wanted to
leave it running unattended!

Am pretty sure this is not a PVBC problem but something to do with running it
on old hardware (Dell Latitude D610). Maybe a windows setting, maybe just old
hardware, dunno, but you can close this issue if you like. Thanks for looking
into it, Mark

I have no other suggestions. It is possible that the old laptop does not have
hardware support for wake timers.

Do you have any other software that wakes the computer from sleep?

It's working fine now. The problem was under the PV output Settings tab of
PVBC. Enable Auto backload and Force live upload were unchecked, but live
upload days was set to 2, so it was continually uploading yesterday's data.
Changed it to 1 and all is well. Didn't think it would make a difference as
"Force live upload" was unchecked.
