PVBC output for average production is 2x instantaneous #99

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. PVBC 1.6.0.6
2. Sunny Explorer 1.02.07
3. Configuration unchanged from when working

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

the average power seen on PVOutput is exactly double the instantaneous power
until the inverter powers down (final reading for the day)

What version of the product are you using (e.g. 1.4.1.9 32bit)?

1.6.0.6 32-bit

What Operating system (XP, Vista, Windows 7 - 32bit or 64bit)?

Windows XP 32-bit

Which Database Type (MySQL, MS Access, SQLite - If Access, 32bit or 64bit)?

SQLite as shipped with installer

Are there any unusual messages in PVService.log? (upload a copy to this issue
if there are)

PVService.log appears to be fine (attached for 28.8.2011 which is when this
first occurred, as well as the csv file generated throughout the day

Please upload your settings.xml file with the issue. This answers many
questions I would otherwise need to ask.

Please provide any additional information below.

This took some time to find but it is fixed in the current test version.

It was caused by your inverter creating an output interval of 10 minutes at the
start of the day. It reverted to 5 minutes after that. PVBC determines the
interval used in the csbv file by sampling the first interval.

PVBC now checks all intervals in the file. This does not occur on inverters
like mine. The SBnnnnTl-20 inverters output a reading every 5 minutes of the
day. Others like yours only output data when the inverter is "awake". I suspect
that on that particular day, the inverter shutdown due to cloud early in the
morning just after initial startup.

When the new version is released (1.7...) you can use the "Reset First Full
Day" option to reload the incorrect day (or just move the csv file from teh
Archive to the default directory where it will be reloaded).

Thanks heaps, Dennis :)

question (off topic) will PVBC allow me to monitor 2x inverters simultaneously?
looking to add another system same as we already have...

I assume you are aware that version 1.7.0.1 is now available.

Sunny Explorer will report output from two inverters. PVBC will detect and
handle this situation correctly. The latest version allows you to choose to run
separate pvoutput systems for each inverter.
