I think this was the initial functionality (texxasrulez), to (only) subscribe to particular calendars in RC.
Would that be something that could be easily enabled again?
I think there might be use-cases where users have many calendars subscribed (e.g. all their colleagues), but don't want to show them in RC (but only the most important ones).
I know that this might complicate the predefined resources (which are indeed very practical), but maybe as a first step admins would need to chose how to add their calendars?
1) as predefined caldav resource, so new/deleted calendars get added/removed automatically upon login
2) or by manually subscribing/unsubscribing particular calendars (even if they get unavailable, the cached events would still show up (e.g. email clients like Thunderbird also do that).
