Reason for disagreement: Here is again another instance of an unstandardised usage of ... without explanation of what it is. Your team has 3 different explanations and usages of the ... on top of the commonly known usage of ellipsis in the English Language and assume that the user is "clear" on what your implementation is. The user does not live in your heads, so how would they know what you are trying to say. 3 usages in 2 documents, don't you think that's a little too many variations, especially since you did not state what each ... does and just leave it to the wild imagination of the user.
For your second point, it does not show that error message you stated if you just key in ... and nothing else.
When I follow the DG to try inputting ... , I get an error that is not "similar to previous" as what the DG stated.
