Prestige Legacies - aka my newest insane idea #126

While some prestige classes like mystic theurge make little sense as legacies, others like arcane trickster, assassin, dragon disciple, hellknight signifier, or duelist could make sense.

So what do people think about adding them as special legacies that start at level 6-10(when exactly is one of those things I would like feedback on) and add most of their features, for example arcane trickster would add neither sneak attack nor spellbook progression, since with the rogue legacy as a prerequisite both are already fully handled by the base class and legacy.

So what do people think does the idea make sense at all? If yes what prestige classes make sense(I personally think a Stalwart Defender sounds neat for a protection focused hero or a sword lord edge lord)? If yes then what should the selection be an exceptional feat or an overwhelming one?

I like this idea. It lets people who don't multiclass or play legend tryout the prestige features. I wonder how big we can make the progression sheet.

why not make it selectable as a dual legacy?

The simplest way would be to make them at a dual legacy at lvl 10.

The, perhaps, smarter way would be to start at lvl 5 : 1) isekai after all, 2) the capstone would be reached before lvl20, it would avoid such a spike of power at the last lvl

I guess they all make sense except mystic theurge and loremaster (allready access to virtually all feats/spells)

Hum with further reflexion :

All others can add thing of varied usefulness. Would suggest this kind of order : Dragon disciple, duellist, Hellknight, Student of war, Stalwart defender (could be given to Hero?)

@JohN100x1 that is also an option, I had thought to keep it as something separate because when compared to the base legacies all are rather underpowered, Arcane Trickster only really adds ranged Ledgerman, Suprise Spells and Sudden Invisibility for example, even those that would add a lot more like slatwart defender or dragon disciple only have 10 levels.

If you combine that with the fact that a requirement for dragon disciple would be a draconic bloodline suddenly without dual legacy you are very locked in on what your first legacy must be...

@Mythalar arcane trickster adds a few more abilities than that, not many but a few and the idea would actually for the prestige legacy to require everything the normal class does, so no arcane trickster without a rogue legacy or winter witch without shaman or witch. So as an addon they would definitly be less than the current legacies...
