Multiple wall switches: all 2nd buttons mapped to single device #601

Hi,

thanks for this excellent Homey application. Unfortunately I have an issue with my wall switches RDM001. I am running v2.0.51.

I have added multiple wall switches to Homey. Each one controls two buttons. The first button of each wall switch is properly mapped to its own device in Homey. The issue is that all the second buttons in my entire home are mapped to a single device in Homey.

Adding an additional wall switch will change the mapping of the second buttons of all wall switches that were added earlier.

Removing and re-adding the devices does not resolve this issue.

thanks for your support, Rob

Hi @pixelprei, I'm looking into this.

@JohanBendz, any luck trying to find the solution for this issue? I'm not sure if I'm experiencing the exact same problem as Rob (Pixelprei) is with the Wall Switches, but I think they could be related.

I have 12 Wall Switches installed through Homey, 7 of them have only one button attached and work fine. The other 5 have 2 buttons attached, but the second buttons don't fire the flows that are attached to them, although they did right after I installed them. It seems like the second buttons somehow stopped working, but I can't recall what it may have been that caused the problem. It may have been caused by adding another Wall Switch, just like Rob describes, but I cannot be sure.

Something else: why do the Wall Switches show as two separate devices, even when the default mode is set to 'single pushbutton'? I would expect the behavior that you get when adding them through the Hue Bridge: 1 device with multiple actions (short press, long press, release button, release button after long press) for every activated button to use in flows. I had hoped that I could eliminate the Hue Bridge to reduce the lag between a button press and the lights switching to the bare minimum, but I'm afraid that I will soon need to open up my switch boxes to reconnect the wall switches through the Hue Bridge or Home Assistant (my wife rightly does NOT appreciate it when physical buttons don't work and she is being loud about it! :-D)

For us it's the same. Although we are now running 2.1.0.
