[Feature Request] Gear - Foundry Item Compatibility #155

It'd be great to be able to just drag items an ST has created into the gear section such as things denoting Havens (with the 3 sub category of stats) and other various things like vehicles and what not, versus manually typing out everything every time.

This is Features right? Like backgrounds/merits/flaws those kind of things? Would it be ok to have like Haven (Security) or do you think you have Haven as a main one and then have sub items under that one just as you have with Disciplines?

I think with Haven just being a more elaborate "Hideout/Home" could honestly be its own section, short of players who live in just a tree or a patch of dirt, almost every player I've had for even Werewolf or Mage has had homes and borrowed the Haven Background (especially the V20 Anarch version called Communal Haven with a 3 options of Size, Security and Luxury). So I definitely think having it like Disciplines where you can create sub items is best practice here.

This also applies to vehicles. I've had players over the years who get really into their vehicles and love using the Mage 20th book to then start modifying their vehicles. I've had friends who are mechanics IRL who helped with making it a plug and play for doing this in a sensible game fashion.

But yeah in general having it function like Backgrounds, Merits/Flaws and use Foundry's Item system would be a great improvement versus manual typing.

Should you place details for Havens and such as described in this issue under a sub section of Bio or a sub section under Info? Also I was thinking of the larger backgrounds as Have which have sub-sections. In reallity are there any point (actually) to have them in a subsection fashion? Is there a drawback to have in the list:

Haven Haven - Security and so on.

Since the lists automatically is ordered in alphabetic order the list would line up. What you would gain would be the possibility to have graphical stuff happening. And frankly I'm not really sure it is worth it. Not sure at all.

I'll break Vehicles out from this issue which I'll would place under Gear. A Vehicle is of course an Item.

Well thats a pretty good question, 😂 I think a sub-section under Bio is the best bet, same for Contacts and Blood Bonds. They're all relevant info but they don't come get changed as often as other things like equipment and abilities.
