Hey, um, I might be a team member now, but I'm still a total github noob. How does it change how I add textures?

goldbattle commented 10 years ago

In your github client, you want to select John-Smith-Modded, and then clone that repo.

From there, whenever you edit those files it gets pushed straight to the official repos.

In linux you just clone this repo, and commit/push straight to this. (instead of on your own account)

Got it. Thanks again!

You no longer need approval before your changes are added to the repo because you can now edit the repo directly.

The process is also simpler: clone the main repo to your computer, then commit and push directly to the repo.

A pull request, in contrast, is essentially working on a temporary copy and then asking the maintainers to include your edits to the main repo.

EDIT: I took too long to post! :P Beat ya! your post is better though :+1: - goldbattle
