Reference bar: Bible book hotkey #142

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. It is great to have hotkeys to get into the books box of the reference bar
(Ctrl+B)
2. As soon as this hotkey is used, the actual book name (e.g. John) is selected.
3. But as soon as you start to type another book name (e.g M or m for Mark),
the actual name (John) come back.
4. Only way to get rid of the actual book name is to delete it character by
character and then start to type the new name.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
To delete the selected actual book name as soon typing the new book name is
started.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
xs 3.3. Linux/Windows

Please provide any additional information below.

Some additional observations to the book hotkey:
- This does not happen if you start to type numbers (e.g. 1 for 1 John)
- Very often, when using this hotkey, you have to use it twice, till the book
name is selected.

Choosing 3 John by the reference bar, then using next (or Alt+Down-arrow) 3
times, you get to Rev 2 and the reference bar shows Rev 2.
Going back by Ctrl+B to the book box, this box switches immediately to 3 John.
But using Alt to go to the chapter box typing 1, then Alt to the verse box
typing 5 then Enter, the reference does not get to 3 John, but to Revelation.

In 3.6, the book text-box and related hot keys have been improved to address
these issues.
