your 'world' means the biome-map, where the player can move around?

in wild biomes the monsters aren't drawn. In your own territory the monsters will be displayed and can speak to the player (giving hints or just smalltalk...)., they can help you watering your plants for example (the must not be watered by the player, just for keeping them busy...), maybe they can play with each other like big elephants...
