[ ] ~~Get adjusted CMU fonts to look natural within bounds~~ Not trivial, if possible
[x] Ensure big symbols look good with new scaling (parameterise scaling)
[x] Use AMS cmex font for big symbols
[x] Consider generalising big symbol logic
[x] Make integral preference user facing

It would be good to sort out big symbols, and maybe even the optional integral layout
