Sipdroid activates my device's lock screen upon receiving, making, or ending a call. #1105

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Making, receiving, and ending calls all reproduce the problem.
2.
3.

What is the expected output? I expect to just enter the Sipdroid ui when
answering/making and ending calls. What do you see instead? Instead the lock
screen opens immediately. Covering the proximity sensor unlocks the screen and
displays the Sipdroid ui as it should or I can enter my lock screen pin to
achieve the same.

What version of the product are you using? I am using version 2.9 of the
product. On what device/operating system? I am using a Samsung Galaxy Note 2
T-Mobile USA hardware Android version 4.1.2 tested with the exact same issues
on both stock/oem rom and custom rom (Jedi X12). I prefer the custom rom and
it's stock based so I doubt the issues come from the rom itself in addition I
flashed back to the original factory installed rom with the same result.

Which SIP server are you using? What happens with PBXes? I have a google voice/
PBXes setup.

Which type of network are you using? The issue persists over 4g, 3g, 2g, and
Wifi. I use all 4.

I am willing to assist as much as possible in order to have this issue
resolved. Other than the one issue Sipdroid works flawless on my device and I
have recommended it to over 400+ individuals. Thanks for your hard work.

Please report if the lock screen appears on a new call, or several times during
an active call, or both. It would be nice to have a chronological description
of call mentioning all the times you have to enter your PIN, holding your phone
to your ear etc. Thanks!

The lock screen appears when initiating an outbound call or receiving an
inbound call. Please Fix! Thanks for the great app.

after unlocking the screen the lock screen appears again if I move the phone to
hard. I have to unlock the screen again to take the call...

Problem appears after update to Android 4.1.1

Immediately after making the call or receiving a call the lock screen appears
and a pin is required in order to take the call or to complete the call. After
further experimentation it appears to be an issue with the proximity sensor. If
I wave my hand in front of the proximity sensor the lock screen is unlocked
while receiving a call.

comment #5 - yes, I was hacking on the code to resolve it - and it is the
problem. Disabling the face-pressing code eliminates the lock.

In the code, it's in
https://code.google.com/p/sipdroid/source/browse/trunk/src/org/sipdroid/sipua/ui
/CallScreen.java ad has to do with the method disableKeyguard

I notice programming work done in 2013 to support JellyBean - either the change
wasn't right or Android 4.2 has changed things further?

Good find #6 hope to see an update to the app soon to resolve this issue.
Seems like a rather simple fix for a very developer like pmerl... I'm all for
testing before it goes live.

The change that constantly request the PIN on your phones was introduced to fix
a bug on an HTC One X with Android 4.1. As far as I remember it was sometimes
impossible to slide up the callcard to answer a call when taking the phone out
of the pocket.

What you now observe is invisible on a LG P880 that I am now using.
Nevertheless I have limited the workaround of January to HTC One phones with
Android 4.1. Is this running good on your phone models? See downloads Sipdroid
3.1 preview.

ok so after installing and testing version 3.1 it works great. I've tested all
of the previous situations that would activate the lock screen and require pin
unlock or pattern unlock and now the issue no longer exists thanks dev for your
great work.

I am on version 3.1 and am experiencing this issue with an HTC One running
4.1.2. Initiating or receiving a call results in a lockscreen popping up. The
call still goes through and I can hear and talk ok, just have a lockscreen in
my way.
