Can't use Google Contacts to dial a phone number on Motorola Xoom #961

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install Google voice and then Sipdroid. Have Sipdroid link to Google Voice
account.
2. Open Google Contacts on the Xoom, find a contact with a phone number, tap
the phone number.
3. You are presented by a dialog box that asks you "Complete Action using..."
and then select Sipdroid from the list.
4. Here's the issue: instead of having the phone number you selected put into
Sipdroid and called, you are instead presented with a dialog box that asks you
if you would like to add that number to your Google Contacts list. If you say
yes (which is dumb because it's already in your contact list) then you go
through that process but are never directed to Sipdroid. If you say no, then
nothing happens and you are still not directed to Sipdroid and left looking at
your unchanged contact list. I'm wondering if this is a ntaive problem with
tablets/Honeycomb because they aren't meant to make phone calls and therefore
don't handle phone numbers in the same way that android phones do. However,
when you tap on a phone number in Google Contacts and you are presesnted with
the "Complete Action Useing..." dialog box and you select Google Voice, that
phone number is fed into Google Voice correctly and you are set up to send a
text message to that number via Google Voice so I know it must be possible.

What version of the product are you using? On what device/operating system?
Motorola Xoom running Honeycomb 3.2. Google Voice build: 0.4.2.36, Sipdroid 2.3
Beta

Which SIP server are you using? What happens with PBXes?
I'm using PBXes

Which type of network are you using?
WiFi

Please provide any additional information below.
There does seem to be some level of integration between Sipdroid and Google
Contacts happening because if I have a phone number saved for a contact, i.e.
John Smith and I manually dial that phone number in Sipdroid, as soon as
Sipdroid starts connecting to that number, the screen tells me that I am
connecting to John Smith and not just some random number.

I have the exact same problem on my Acer A500 tablet, Honeycomb, Android 3.1
kernel version 2.6.36.3, build number 4.010.13_com_gen2

Same issue on galaxy tab 10.1. Suspect honeycomb may be interfering with
ACTION_DIAL intents since it is tablet only.

That's a valid point. I am growing very frustrated. I can't get google voice to
function properly on the Acer A100 - I cant make it dial at all. I can use
sipdroid to dial phone numbers, but it won't let me check any contacts - I have
to manually plug in a number to make a call. Oh, and I verified all my settings
in google voice. I am thinking of trying to create a new number and new email
address.

I just posted a work around to this on xda:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1802854

It will allow you to dial directly from your Contacts/People app in ICS 4.0.x

I replaced /system/app/Phone.apk with one from a device that I knew had
Telephony services, was tegra2, and ran ICS.

This will only be a workaround for Tegra2 tablets.
