Performs a graceful fade from flight category colors to night, then to dark.
This provides a lovely visualization of sunset falling across the country.
Adds a SMOKE category for where there is reduced visibility caused by smoke. These stations are turned gray.
Does a better job of caching METARs and then handling the NOAA service being unavailable.
