Hi @gichiba I'm outlining an idea now but I had some questions I'm hoping you could clear up.

In this issue you say to create something with the colonyJS library. Does that mean setting up a colony with the library is required? Does a new dapp for this hackathon have to be in JS?

Would you include other integration with your smart contract in the scope of this hackathon? For example, I would consider Ruby SDK for interacting with your smart contracts an integration (as listed on the hackathon website) but that doesn't use the JS library at all.

Would it be possible to deploy an early version of the colony contract to a testnet just for this event? It would be interacting with it better and team development easier.

Thanks

Side note, I just had to buy internet from comcast when I moved this week so I have been looking into how to start an ISP. Colony seems really conducive to a community run independent ISP. Someone should totally make that.

@jschiarizzi Hey, if you send me a message in the Gitter (https://gitter.im/ColonyHackathon/Lobby) I can help you further. Also, you can tag me in your issue when you create it and I can respond there.

As for you question: No, there aren't really any rules for what you need to use (colonyJS was built to make integrations easy for developers, but you aren't bound to use it in your project). So if you're familiar with Ruby and have an idea of something to build, by all means go for it!. I'd just be aware that the dev team is more familiar with JS, so if you run into challenges it might be that you'll be a little more 'on your own' than if you used colonyJS in your project.

As for the test network deployment: shhhhh stay tuned for news on that.

Finally, before I got into Ethereum I tried (and ultimately failed) to set up a community wireless mesh network ISP. I agree, it would be literally a dream come true for me to see someone make a colony as an ISP. Would be quite complicated, though.... but I digress. Hit me up in Gitter if you want to chat more!
