Unable to open Fauxbar's database (ever)

My specs:

Chrome 18.0.1025.56 beta-m
Windows 7

Fauxbar Lite + Memory Helper

Problem: 

When clicking on the fauxbar icon in the adressbar nothing happens. The only 
way to access it is through the options. Then this error occurs: Unable to open 
Fauxbar's database. Please try disabling and re-enabling (tried many times). 
Error log is inaccessible. Uninstalling and installing the extensions did not 
help. 

Using the f + spacebar does not give me any suggestions.

I can't recall since when I have had this problem, however, it's a long time 
and using chrome w/o it is a pain in the a**. I understand I gave you poor 
information, but I'm not sure how to get more, maybe you can suggest something? 

Looking forward to reactions. 

P.S.: I did not try to reinstall chrome. I would like to avoid this.

Have your tried using the normal official stable chrome (currently: 
18.0.1025.142 m) ?
You are using a beta, that could be the cause.

Do the following:

Upload the database file.

Database location:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User 
Data\Default\databases\chrome-extension_hibkhcnpkakjniplpfblaoikiggkopka_0

Hello. I checked and I found a few folders like you mentioned, however, not the 
one you stated.
On the filepath there are these folders:
chrome-extension_bfimmnpbjccjihohjkimphfmmebffbmk_0
chrome-extension_bohahkiiknkelflnjjlipnaeapefmjbh_0
chrome-extension_edacconmaakjimmfgnblocblbcdcpbko_0
chrome-extension_hdokiejnpimakedhajhdlcegeplioahd_0
chrome-extension_loljledaigphbcpfhfmgopdkppkifgno_0
and a few more without the chrome-extension prefix.

I uninstalled the chrome I had and downloaded the stable version (the one you 
mentioned) and check whether the numbers are correct (same).

The button still does not react on click. There's a difference in behaviour of 
my chrome on my laptop and the one I have in work (they are in sync. I didn't 
have to install extensions on the chrome @work they loaded automatically). When 
I click on the fauxbar icon it does not react @work too, however when clicking 
options, the error does not occur and I can change settings. This is 
unachievable on my laptop chrome.

Also, the fauxbar at work seems to return suggestions, when I click options and 
type in the bar above the options. Icon as mentioned does not work and f + 
space option does not return suggestions, which the bar in option does. 

(laptop behaviour unchanged - nothing mentioned works.)

For fauxbar lite
the folder should be "chrome-extension_bfimmnpbjccjihohjkimphfmmebffbmk_0"

I have the exactly same issue
only one file in this folder

ops, "Fauxbar Lite" Yes, i missed that, sorry.
What comment 4 said is the correct folder name.

But i do not need the database file anymore.

I have already identified and fixed problem with database not loading, i think.

I'm currently updating fauxbar to make it compatible with the changes chrome 
v18 introduced.

Hi all ; I have the very same problem as the OP but on the stable Chrome 
channel (not beta nor canary). Although you say you identified the problem, I'm 
attaching databases for both Fauxbar and Fauxbar Lite for any help it might 
bring. I did a complete Chrome uninstall and reinstalled it clean, without 
syncing, just adding Fauxbar in the first place -- the error message popped 
right up upon summoning the Options page for Fauxbar. Same thing with Lite. 
Basically, I installed Fauxbar, tried it, deactivated it and then installed 
Lite. 

1.zip is Fauxbar
2.zip is Fauxbar Lite

Turns out this problem was due to fauxbar not being fully updated to support 
the new changes in chrome v18.

Unfortunately i can't get hold of the original developer so i had to create new 
project web site where i have admin access to. Simplest way for me so i can 
manage files and fauxbar issues, etc.

Simplest way for users to get future file updates and report issues, make 
feature requests, etc too :)

Since so many have this problem i have decided to upload an updated version of 
what i have now. If you find any issues report them please.

Uninstall old fauxbar / fauxbar lite.

Than go to this link and click download button. (Chrome should detect 
automatically that it's an extension and ask if you want to install it)

This is a test version to verify that the extension update thing works.

It should within a few hours update to 'Fauxbar Lite v1.2.6' if it works.
You can also force the update by going to 'chrome://settings/extensions' check 
'Developer mode' then press button 'Update extension now'.
(You might have to click the button a few times.)

Both 'Fauxbar Lite v1.2.5' and 'Fauxbar Lite v1.2.6' contains the same update.
The only thing different between these two versions is the version number.

I will upload 'Fauxbar v1.2.6' in a few minutes.

I used the link ending w/ .crx. Seems like it works for me. No database 
crashed, suggestion works, even with f + space. Looks like happy times are 
coming again! =)

This information is popping up once in a while. I noticed, that the last time 
it popped up it was immediately after pressing f+space. Now it happened 
immediately after refreshing of facebook tab.

Polluting this issue with things not related is bad.
Technically this issue should be closed now since its fixed but i don't have
