Very nice post. I am glad that you liked my article and your set of rules is really good. UI design (and programming) isn't an easy task. IMO, simplicity is the most important - and most difficult - property to achive. As a final thought, I would like to remember that having rules is good, but discussing your UI with your team members is essential. Different arguments and ideas create a solid base for improvements.
