Hi Jonathan,

a really awesome blog post. I mostly enjoyed to get an impression of the atmosphere of your home and your way of life. I also like all these country life things. Great! Even more because I'm from Germany were it's currently winter time with a lot of fog and temperatures around zero celsius degrees.

I'm the developer of the TinkerForge openHAB Binding and I thought about whether these TinkerForge devices could be useful for your water tank observation: https://www.tinkerforge.com/en/shop/bricklets/moisture-bricklet.html or https://www.tinkerforge.com/en/shop/bricklets/distance-us-bricklet.html What's nice about the TinkerForge devices: open source hardware and software, reasonably cheap and not as low level as a pure arduino, because they provide high level api's for multiple languages.

With kind Regards, Theo
