Wow dude I had no idea. You are going to be missed. You and your team's work at Oracle AND ControlsFX AND with the community made so many other things possible. People need to know how important that is.

Are you looking at any opportunities in the States?

Thanks Sean. I won't be disappearing entirely - I'll still keep on with ControlsFX, Scenic View, FXDocs, etc. I will keep up to date with OpenJFX too, I just won't be at Oracle driving things.

I am looking for opportunities worldwide. I have a few potential opportunities ready to go, and plan to pull the trigger soon, once all have been given consideration.

This was a bittersweet announcement today. When I think of JavaFX I think of your contributions. It felt weird that you weren't at the Java One this year, and you were definitely missed. I agree with Sean, this is a huge development in the community, and for the language going forward. Wish you all the best, and hope to see you around at future Java One events, if you are still active in the space. Wanted to thank you for your help in getting my project up and running with advice and introductions. You will be missed.

If not for your hard work and driving vision, I would not have been able to do even 10% of what I have accomplished the past few years, and undoubtedly would have been banished to the C++ Qt dungeon.
