I'd like to share screen and use hotkey to (un)mute? Is it possible to send hotkey into zoom panel via xdotool in this case?

AFAIK xdotool allows sending "global" keys and not keys to specific windows, that why the script moves around windows so that the correct one gets the focus. If xdotool can do that, then obviously yeah it'll be nicer :)
