Dell duo - android 2.2 froyo and Win7 - NO BOOTMGR - HELP!!!!

I'm running Win7 on a Dell Inspiron duo. I downloaded/installed Android-x86 2.2 
Froyo (the duo build). It boots right into Android with no issues, but when I 
pick Windows, it gives me the dreaded:

BOOTMGR IS MISSING
|Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart|

I can't boot to the Windows Recovery disk either - I get an error when using my 
external drive (the duo has no internal drive):

Windows Recovery
Windows is having trouble using device(s) connected to your computer. This can 
be caused by removable devices being not connected properly or a disk drive 
failing. Please check connections and try again.

I will try to borrow another drive from a friend tomorrow - in the meantime, 
any suggestions???
