When I translate a module, e.g. the "About Joomla!" module, and switch to the 2nd language the "About Joomla!" module shows twice, both times translated. I had the module still on All languages, but changing that to the default language en-GB did not help.
This also happens when translating categories, e.g. the sample categories "Components" and "Modules" from the Articles extension (selection dropdown box in JF Translate screen). Translated those two categories and then go to (Joomla Sample data): Using Joomla in About Joomla module > Using Extensions: this then shows two categories in the second language, however, both with the translated string.
