I have been trying to get multitouch gestures working for a while with my Magic Trackpad 2, using Fedora 36, GNOME 42. Could not figure out why it didn't work until coming across this reddit post which suggested running...
$ sudo systemctl start touchegg $ sudo systemctl enable touchegg
...which finally got it working.
Within the installation instructions, similar advice is given for other distributions but not for Fedora.
Edit: I have now submitted a pull request to document this advice. Am noob; hope I did it right 😇
