Un cable de red, también conocido como cable Ethernet, es un tipo de cable diseñado para conectar dispositivos de red, como computadoras, routers, switches y modems, entre sí. Estos cables utilizan un conector RJ45 en ambos extremos para conectarse a los dispositivos y permiten la transmisión de datos a través de la red en diferentes velocidades, como 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps o 1 Gbps. El cable de red suele estar compuesto por cuatro pares de hilos de cobre trenzados, recubiertos por una cubierta externa protectora. Hay diferentes tipos de cables de red, como Cat5, Cat6 y Cat7, que varían en la velocidad y la distancia de transmisión que pueden soportar.
