Startup into system tray #3386

Open realSZ27 opened 1 year ago

Feature description

Title describes itself, it takes a bit of time to startup and it would be nice for it to have the option to open at startup. Specifically into the system tray so it doesn't get in the way.

There's a checkbox for this on the very first page of the settings window. Does this not work for you?

Also note that there are two similar "start into tray" options and one's specifically for system boot. I recently had this confusion.

I have checked boxes for "launch playnite when you start your computer" and corresponding to it "start closed to tray" but unchecked "launch playnite minimized". No issues with starting to tray when system boots, but when I close playnite and run it again it also starts to tray - shouldn't unchecked option "launch playnite minimized" prevent that and launch it normally on top?

Latest playnite 10.15. I'm not sure how it behaved in previous version but I'm pretty sure it was the same.

//edited: There must have been something wrong with my playnite pinned to the taskbar that caused it to always open closed/minimized to tray when launched through it, even though "launch playnite minimized" setting was unchecked. Repinning the shortcut from start menu resolved this issue for me - now it behaves in accordance with settings.
