On Pioneer we are linking users to Subwallet and also our community are commonly referencing this wallet as one of the 3 wallets available for use with Joystream.
The problem is that without a guide for a new user they will not actually see Joystream tokens unless they do some specific manual action.
Fresh install + wallet screen
Click get address and send some tokens to it
tokens don't appear in wallet
User must manually press Manage tokens and enable Joystream
User can now actually see tokes in their wallet
Solution
As Joystream grows it is likely that we will get supported by more wallets--our products should ideally link to a dedicated section on the main website that includes guides for how to use Joystream on them. As we are a standalone L1 blockchain it seems that some wallets will not enable our network by default. A clear guide would reduce friction for users that choose to utilize this wallet.
Combined with the friction involved with wallet UX, as we will have a bridging solution and wrappen token soon, as well as a validator UI in Pioneer it seems prudent to have a subsection of the token page on joystream.org that includes a few guides like these.
I guess such guides could live within Pioneer itself, but I am not sure if that is the right way to go?
